I have returned back to model building after a 20+ year layoff. I notice all the great builds here and the helpful tips from you fellow model builder tubers. I hope one day I can be as talented as you builders. This is an awesome hobby!

Great build! Thanks for the shout out.
my grtea great uncle was an ace in the pacific with the p-38j
there is a possible chance i might get that next
(at the store michael’s)
Looks good – just the “Night lightning” was gloss black and carried no rockets. They had a rocket tree but the role was a night interceptor.
I’m building right now the same model just slightly bigger 1/5 scale. End of August after the maiden flight I will post a clip here on Utube
Oh boy – I liked it
I did enjoy the outcome of it…
And unlike BasicModelling, I don’t have a soft spot for the P-38, but I liked this…..!!!
Thanks for the shout, by the way.. Nice to see you’ve taken up the hobby again!
Glad to know I may have had a small part in that..
Restoring partially built kits and make them better is an art..
You sure did well with this one.. I have a soft spot for the P-38, especially when it comes with the rockets under the wings..
I have an Academy P-38 as well as the Revell P-38 to build, both in 1/72.. The Revell kit is the old Monogram kit and will be built as a 2-seat Night Fighter version..
