I had the good fortune of talking with E-flite model airplane designer David Payne to discuss his latest model, the new Piper L-4 Grasshopper. Another of the models that all RC guys love, the L-4 is the military version of the popular J-3 Cub. It has many interesting features that make it a great model with excellent flying characteristics for pilots of all skill levels. David gives us some great insight into this excellent airplane. I have listed some of the features that David and I discussed below. Watch our video to find out what makes the L-4 Grasshopper so special. •Great-looking scale outline and scale Features •Built-up balsa construction •Realistic ultracote® parklite™ trim scheme •Easily assembles in a single evening •Magnetically secured plug-in wings •Quick-release wing struts There are a few items that you will need to complete the L-4 ARF: •4 servos •Receiver •250 Brushless E-flite motor •E-flite 430 2S Li Po Battery •10-Amp Speed control Questions or comments email us at editors@horizonrc.com For More information please vist the links below: www.horizonhobby.com www.horizonhobby.com Horizon Hobby is now on facebook! I would recommend you buy the Hobbyzone Super Cub LP. Just Google it. I started out with it a few months ago. Crashed it once. Very cheap replacement parts. No I’m flying Nitro.
Skater, I would say this one is not the best for you, sounds like you need a more durable model to get thorugh the basic training level (which means a couple of inevetible crashes). The L-4 is perfect as a model for anyone who is looking for a model that is one step beyond that first model.
Ive only had one plane before and i couldnt fly it beacause it was foam and very light. would this be good for a semi beginner?
heeh i love those little planes
Works like a champ. Actually the wing struts keep the panels in place. The magnets just keep the alignment tubes engaged. No load on the wings, probably even less than on a canopy. Anyway, works great.
im worried aout the magnets i dont want things that hold down my Half oz foam canopy to hold down my wings or are they very strong
nice!
